Crater Lake

Crater Lake is a 1,932 foot deep lake situated in the remnants of a volcano that exploded nearly 7,000 years ago. It is the deepest lake in the United States and its water is an extraordinarily deep blue. Although the description sounds impressive, it does not prepare one for the awe inspired by seeing it in person.
Although the lake is truly impressive, the highlight of the day was when I proposed to Joann on the rim of the crater overlooking the lake. It was a wonderful moment. (Update: We got married the next year. You can see pictures in Going to the Chapel).
I took many pictures during my one day visit to crater lake. I present a few of the best pictures that I captured on this page. Enjoy.
